When defeated, the floor collapses and his true form chases you down a twisted corridor, revealing that "Peppino's Pizza 2" to actually be a closed-down restaurant named "Bruno's Pizza". Strangely, unlike the other bosses, he shows very little transition from Phase 1 to 2, apart from the background changing to better fit his inhuman nature. Both Fake Peppino and the other fakes can melt and reform from liquid. In his fight, he is armed with an army of countless other Fake Peppinos, which all wear a darker color than Peppino's current outfit color. Upon first fighting them, Fake Peppino appears on the Versus screen with Peppino's exact same sprite but mirrored. In addition, his face now sports an impossibly wide jaw, ready to devour the player should they lag in their final showdown. To highlight his nightmarish form, Fake Peppino's head now dwarfs the rest of his body, leaving it to awkwardly run on all fours to chase after foes. When chasing the player at the end of his boss fight, Fake Peppino's morph sheds his attempt at impersonation to instead serve as an optimal obstacle. Fake Peppino's clones also wear the same outfit as Peppino albeit with a darker shade. With his abilities, Fake Peppino can melt into the floor or throw his own head, the latter revealing a brain with eyes underneath. However, Fake Peppino's appearance makes it immediately clear what his true nature is, with the copy having bulging eyes that almost never point the same direction, a set of abnormally large teeth, an extremely long tongue, noodle-like limbs, tidier hair and an easily morphable form. Owing to his mimicry, Fake Peppino looks like an imperfect mirror of Peppino, even going so far as to have the same outfit depending on what the player equips.
